Design and Governance
Design
Reborn’s tokenomics system centers on incentivizing high-quality data contributions to build a robust ecosystem for embodied AI. Users contribute data through various means—robot teleoperation, smart gloves, VR gaming, video blogs, and more—earning RBN tokens in proportion to the value and fidelity of their data. Reborn’s proprietary hardware like Rebocap and smart gloves yields higher accuracy, resulting in greater rewards. Contributors can upgrade their contribution tools by redeeming earned tokens, which improves both their data quality and earning potential. As contributors complete tasks, they gain reputation badges that unlock hardware discounts and allow data consumers, such as robotics firms, to assign tasks based on skill and precision.
In parallel, validators known as authenticators ensure data quality by staking RBN tokens and are rewarded through a base and bonus pool mechanism. Indexers label incoming data, while the Data Bank safeguards storage and provides a marketplace for curated datasets. Data consumers—ranging from companies to researchers—purchase these datasets via smart contracts, with a portion of fiat converted to RBN for ecosystem growth. Additionally, model contributors can stake RBN to access datasets, build robotics models, and monetize results, aligning token incentives with innovation. Governance of the entire ecosystem is managed by RebornDAO, where stakers vote on key parameters, including reward distribution and model funding, ensuring a decentralized and continuously evolving data economy.
Data Contributors
Users contribute training data to Reborn through either a mobile/PC application, motion capture devices, or other hardware sold by Reborn. In return, users receive RBN for data they contribute to the platfor,m giving them a stake in future revenue generated by the platform and the Reborn ecosystem. The amount they contribute is determined by the method in which they contribute data to the protocol.

The methodology is that using Reborn’s hardware produces much more accurate episodic data, which is more valuable for our customers. However, for contributors that can only afford to contribute initially through our app, we will allow them to upgrade from mobile-related data submission to more advanced motion capture methods, such as smart gloves, by allowing them to exchange RBN tokens they have earned for prior contribution to the platform into wearable devices. As contributors progress from one wearable to the next, they earn additional RBN, with the quality of their contributions improving alongside their upgrades.
Reputation Badges
As contributors continue to successfully complete tasks on Reborn regardless of their hardware they upgrade their reputation within the Reborn. Tied to this reputation badge is a number of attributes which showcase what the particular contributor is skillful at, as an example:
Able to follow commands accurately
Precise in how they contribute particular data sets
Skilled with teleoperation within Reborn’s phone application
Data consumers such as robotics companies and researchers can post specific tasks to these skilled contributors to ensure the utmost highest data quality and being able to meet certain standards.
These reputation badges also tie in with the upgrade system for contributors with higher reputation badges are able to receive discounts on hardware upgrades.
The total reward allocation for contributors is set at 10% over 4 years, with rewards being heavily distributed in the early stages before gradually tapering off. Over time, these rewards will be supplemented and eventually replaced by revenue generated from data consumers.
Validators:
Authenticators
Authenticators validate and process incoming data from contributors to ensure it meets quality standards and is free from malicious content. To participate as an authenticator, users must stake RBN tokens. In return, they earn a portion of RBN rewards distributed over a 4-year schedule. Initially, rewards are primarily funded by the protocol, but as revenue from data consumers grows, these rewards gradually taper off.
Rewards are allocated through a two-pool model: a base pool and a bonus pool. The base pool provides foundational rewards, while the bonus pool offers additional incentives based on performance and uptime.
This structure ensures fair and sustainable compensation for authenticators while aligning long-term growth with ecosystem revenue. Overall we are distributing 20% of all RBN tokens to validators within the ecosystem over a 4 year period. This distribution over time will be supplemented and eventually replaced by revenue generated from data consumers.
Indexers
Organize and label incoming transactions, maintaining the network's operational integrity.
Data Bank
Data Bank safeguards the privacy and secure storage of all contributed data. It also provides data consumers with a streamlined interface to browse and purchase tailored datasets that meet their specific requirements. This ensures efficient access to high-quality training data while maintaining strict data protection standards.
Consumers are able to purchase these data sets with fiat currency with a portion of the fiat that they use to purchase the data being converted into RBN tokens and held back in the treasury to help foster ecosystem growth. Consumers of robotics data are also Reborn itself as a protocol we produce and license models to some of the largest robotics companies in the world, further researchers/developers are encouraged to purchase access to these datasets so that they are able to build their own models.
Data Consumers
Reborn primarily serves robotics companies that purchase customized datasets tailored to their specific requirements. These transactions are facilitated through on-chain smart contracts, which allow companies to clearly define and publish their data needs. This transparent, blockchain-based system creates a powerful incentive for data contributors, who are motivated to rapidly provide the requested high-quality data in exchange for rewards. The direct alignment between corporate demand and contributor supply ensures efficiency and accelerates the development of robotics models.
Model Contributors
Researchers and protocols can use RBN tokens to access datasets for developing robotics models, which can then be monetized through partnerships with Reborn’s affiliated robotics hardware companies.
To encourage model development Reborn has deployed a model curation process which coordinates RBN holders with different research groups and protocols that are looking to access data on Reborn to build models. These protocols are able to pitch via governance:
Which data set(s) they need access to and what sort of data would still need to be collected.
An outline of what model they are looking to build
Overview of the team that is working on building this model
Incentives offered by the team as well to ensure that RBN holders are willing to stake their tokens to these protocols.
The time horizon for the project also determines how long RBN holders must stake for.
RBN holders are able to stake and then delegate these projects. Once the amount of RBN tokens staked is greater than a certain threshold, the team is able to then access the described data sets without having to pay using RBN. They are able to build and then monetize on top of Reborn as well. The incentive distributed back to stakers would be a share of revenue generated from the model that they monetize on Reborn and any additional incentives offered by the project themself ( their own governance token, additional RBN incentives etc). This puts the RBN token at the centre of all innovation on top of the platform with new models being built on Reborn requiring either RBN tokens to access or RBN holders to direct stake and incentives towards these protocols.
Additionally, models that either have a substantial stake delegated towards them or are being actively used over time will earn RBN rewards, ensuring long-term incentives for contributors. A significant 20% of Reborn’s total token supply is allocated to reward these model contributors, fostering sustained innovation and collaboration within the ecosystem.
The Reborn DAO
RebornDAO stands at the center of ecosystem governance, wielding significant influence over resource allocation and protocol development. The DAO takes inputs from both consumers and stakers to direct resources toward the most valuable motion data and use cases. It manages protocol fees and incentivizes crucial ecosystem contributions, robotic model creation and looking after all components of the Reborn protocol.
Staking
For users who do not know how to operate their own validators we will extend the ability to stake their RBN tokens and will work with various staking providers to allow them to participate in the network as a validator. There is a minimum staking window of 4 weeks. The staker is issued a receipt token that is weighted according to the formula below:
Voting
The DAO's scope encompasses crucial protocol parameters, including reward distributions, authenticator node requirements, data quality standards, and the allocation of ecosystem resources. A unique feature of our governance model is the ability for stakers to participate in the direction of incentives for model creation, where voting for particular models allows for researchers to gain additional incentives for their particular model.
Fee Switch
Within Reborn, governance fee distribution can be voted in after the protocol has been live for more than 6 months. After the 6 month period the rewards accumulated inside the rebornDAO can be distributed pro rata and then constantly distributed to stakers, authenticators, and data contributors.
